De-Flickering or caustics noise removal in underwater images recorded in shallow waters improves the quality of the visual in- formation obtained and infered from the sea bottom in terms of clarity, ilumination balance, and textures, facilitating biological subsequent diagnosis. Ongoing work is currently focused on. a) implementing several original image-processing algorithms based on guided-filters that go one step beyond the state-of-the art to remove soft and strong flicker, and b) test the effect of de-flicker- ing images in the computation of the camera motion.Downloads
