Abstract

ENG: Urban destruction has been a constant in the history of cinema: from the oldest Italian blockbusters inspired by History to the most recent Hollywood dystopias. The roots of the contemporary doomwatch tale can be found in popular literature of the late nineteenth century, when cities became the target to all sorts of tretas.
