NARRATIVAS URBANAS COMO FERRAMENTA PARA APREENDER A CIDADE: REFLEXÕES METODOLÓGICAS [URBAN NARRATIVES AS A TOOL TO APPREHEND THE CITY: METHODOLOGICAL REFLECTIONS]

Resumen

Para além de um dado empírico, as diversas narrativas urbanas revelam questões sobre disputas de poder no território, sobre a dinâmica dos bairros e sobre a própria produção das cidades. Os embates, as controvérsias, o que não é dito: tudo isso acrescenta camadas de informação que não devem passar despercebidos na compreensão do urbano. A partir dessa perspectiva, este ensaio se propõe a investigar como narrativas de sujeitos comuns são capazes de contribuir para a compreensão sócio-espacial da cidade e de correntes teóricas sobre o urbano diante do entendimento de quem habita a cidade. Através de trechos de conversas com moradores de Belo Horizonte, analiso como essas narrativas revelam diversas camadas de análise. Proponho que as falas, discursos, percepções dos diversos atores da cidade – suas narrativas – ocupem um lugar de uma prática metodológica pertinente e necessária, um lugar de produção de conhecimento à priori.

ABSTRACT

The various urban narratives reveal questions about power struggles in the territory, dynamics of neighborhoods and production of space, beyond empirical data.The controversies, which is not said: all this adds layers of information that must not go unnoticed in the understanding of the urban context. From this perspective, this essay aims to investigate how narratives of ordinary subjects are able to contribute to the socio-spatial understanding of the city and theoretical currents about the urban in the face of the understanding of those who inhabit the city. Through excerpts of conversations with residents of Belo Horizonte, I analyze how these narratives reveal these different layers of analysis. I propose that the speeches perceptions of the different actors in the city - their narratives - occupy a place of a pertinent and necessary methodological practice, a place of a production of knowledge.
