Abstract

With the opportunity provided by the ACE magazine through this publication to conduct an assessment of the implementation process in Colombia of Act 388 of 1997, or Territorial Development Act - LDT, and consequently the implementation of urban planning tools general and derivative, this article partly revives criticism and recommendations conducted by architect Javier Garcia-Bellido in his article "Prospects for the new urbanism Colombia: an analysis of its structure," published in the magazine Urban Development in the Ministry of Figures Economic Development (1998). Methodologically, a detailed reading the article, mainly by selecting the topics, criticisms and recommendations that arose in order to stir the national debate on the implementation of the LDT; continued to develop its incorporation and comments on progress in implementing the Law and its instruments.
