Abstract

This research focuses on border cities, from urban imaginaries theory perspective, and intends to characterize them as nodes that materialize in urban forms, architecture and urban arts the conflicts and dramas of border life. These nodes express the phenomena of construction of huge urban spaces in both sides of the border between Mexico and United States of America, as a spatial response of economic globalization. This work tries to answer mainly the following questions: Which is the evolution of the social space in the context of the arising of these gigantic physical structures? In which degree they fuse or fragment now the space that constitutes net cities in their border zones?
