On the occasion of the publication of Carla Sentieri’s book, Valencia: housing and open city. Jaime Roig. History of a street, this article contextualizes its contributions within the framework of the Spanish architecture of the sixties and especially of the bourgeois housing in the city of Valencia. Its evolution from the construction between walls towards the open construction in the new neighborhoods, the impure models derived from the modern tower or block, the ambiguities on the disribution of the houses and their interior tripartition, the openness and the domesticity of the ground floors, are some of the topics covered in the book that are presented here synthetically.Downloads
