Abstract

This work identifies and assesses the potential for reducing climate change from the articulation of intermodal transport networks and water-environmental systems in urban projects. Relevant factors are the articulation solutions between public transport infrastructure systems and green areas and urban densification, provided for in urban projects developed for the Rio Verde-Jacu Urban Operation, which covers the region of Avenida Jacu-Pêssego, in the East Zone of São Paulo. The potential for reducing climate change in each project is identified from the evaluation of the articulation of the designed solutions, considering the energy aspect and the improvement of environmental quality resulting from the proposals. It is identified that intermodal networks linked to water-environmental systems have the potential to promote the reduction of greenhouse gases, improve urban environmental quality, contributing to the reduction of climate change.
