Abstract

The right to the city is a concept used by several authors to explain the territorial inequalities of our cities and propose other forms of more just and democratic urban and territorial planning. On the other hand, for some time now, another layer of analysis of inequality has begun to gain relevance in Uruguay, which brings to the surface a problem that is often invisible:the gaze with a gender and feminist perspective. Currently, these inequalities, territorial and gender, continue to exist in our cities and in some cases have deepened. In this context, this research proposes to question the concept of the right to the city from a gender and feminist perspective, reviewing referent proposals and groups, from its origins to the present, to finally arrive at project reflections that guarantee women's right to the city.
