PROPOSAL OF A NEW MODEL FOR THE SPECIAL PLAN OF PROTECTION AND INTERIOR REFORM OF THE HISTORIC CENTER OF MALAGA TOWARDS A MODEL OF CONSERVATION OF SUSTAINABLE HERITAGE

The special plan for the protection and interior reform of the historic centre of Málaga following Decree 88/2012 of 17 April 2012, which includes in the General Catalogue of Andalusian Historical Heritage this delimited sector of the city as an Asset of Cultural Interest, with the typology of Historic Site, is in the phase of updating and new approval. The progress of the same has been approved since October 2014 and was in the public information period for several months. In this paper we intend to make a proposal for improvement for this plan, analyzing the positive results of the last thirty years and making a proposal that improves the negative aspects and makes this plan an innovative plan that combines sustainability with heritage conservation. Always taking into account the opinion of citizens and the public and private institutions that intervene in this part of the city.
