Abstract

The article analyzes the transformation of Galeria Olido, in downtown São Paulo, from an interstitial corridor into a cultural center. This change has redefined its role in the city, connecting different moments and offering an educational-cultural program. The text discusses the processes of des-territorialization proposed by Deleuze and Guattari, highlighting how places can be modified over time. It also explores the differences between reterritorialization promoted by the State through public policies and that initiated by the population or the market. Thus, it investigates whether the remodeled gallery suggests the creation of a new common public space or a renewal of the urban space's collectivization.
