Abstract

Since the late 1990´s Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) has assisted a restructuring process in which one of its main results would be a new metropolitan dynamic derived from the revitalization from traditional centers and the generation of new ones, linked to renovated process of commercialization of space. The aim of this paper is to present an analysis of urban change in Lomas de Zamora, based on two witness cases: the "Feria La Salada" and "Las Lomitas". These urban transformations: Constitute "new" centralities? If so, how can we define the inner cities? And what relationships can be established with urban “beautification” processes?
