Abstract

The objective of this paper is to analyze the different cultural itineraries in Europe in order to realize the strategies of use of cultural heritage as a possibility for regional development. The main question guiding this work is how the European Cultural Routes ordering the landscape of the localities in which they belong? The methodology provides for the selection of eighteen European Cultural Routes and through the comparative method, sought to score three general aspects: context of the emergence of the itinerary; structure; management system. The hypothesis to be developed is the creation of cultural itineraries, when designed and managed from local groups, certain regional identities and values can be an engine of development for the regions involved. I develop this research at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia under the mentorship of Professor Joaquín Sabaté for one year, is made possible by the grant of a research grant from FAPESP which is an extension of a PhD scholarship I receive at UNICAMP for developing research concerning National Roadmaps Immigration that that institution is supervised by Professor Cristina Meneguello.
