Abstract

The transition from the industrial period to the postindustrial causes changes in the logic of territorial transformation, especially in metropolitan waterfronts. This article aims to reflect on the changes that take place in these strategic areas, in order to analyze if they respond to a way of triggering global economic logic of capitalism or if they are alert to the genetic rules at the local level. It is taken as a case study the waterfront of the Metropolitan Area of Rosario - Argentina- as a representative example of restructuring Metropolitan banks in Latin America. The used methodology consists of a critical - interpretive analysis of the transformations in the last three decades. It follows the fundamental role of the approach to a comprehensive regional perspective that addresses the marks of identity and the existing relationships in the territory, in order to promote a major quality of life for the whole population.
