Discontinuados: el proyecto territorial del balneario uruguayo: episodio crítico: La Coronilla

Abstract

The following case study is framed in the ongoing research, broader and comprehensive, titled Discontinued: The territorial Project of the ruguayan seaside resort. It is explored in it the accelerated territorial changes in the South Coastal Region of Uruguay and inquires about the urbanization process in a multiesalar approach, where the conformation of the seaside resorts plays an outsanding role. In this opportunity the focus is on the oceanic seaside resort named La Coronilla, as it is considered a critical case of spoilage of its environmental and cultural heritage. It exists a before and after for La Coronilla. It was a prestigious resort in the Coasts of Rocha, recognized not only for its sandy beaches but also for the lodging infrastructure mounted there, with at least six huge hotels almost built in the shore. Until is decided by 1981 to enlarge significantly the Canal Andreoni, which is was the beginning of the end.
