Abstract

The size, as well as the fast urbanisation process in Latin-America, means a challenge for Urban Policies. In the last years the cities seem to have improved their economical and social indicators. However, this progress has not meant less inequity and urban social movement’s reduction. It is necessary to design a methodology which analyses the Urban Policies in order to determinate their real impact. This paper analyses the typology, the skate-holders involved and the results of the developed urban policies since "The Istanbul Conference" in 1996. To that effect, the most successful cities from the Good Practices Competition have been analyzed as well as the impact of these experiences and their adequacy to the urban problems.
