Caleidoscopio de la ciudad: espacio abandonado de Seoul y su regeneración con la identidad perdida

Abstract

After the industrial revolution, the city has been bigger to accept the people who gathered in city, and the representative carácter of the contemporary city, which has been bigger and more funtional, was non-place. Non-places are places that has a different carácter with the place of antropological meaning, it means the place which has lost its carácter as a place in the meaning of antropological. If the non-place is a carácter of the contemporary city, there is a carácter of a traditional society that is as opposed to the contemporary city. That is a flexibility of the traditional city. In process of the modernization, these caracters of the traditional city has dissapeared, instead, the non-places are increased. The abandoned spaces, which are isolated like an island inside of the city, are related to the non-places closely. The abandonment of these spaces has been proceeded with the appearance of the non-places, and with the disappearance of the flexibility. Seoul is a city that apears very well of the caracters of non-places. In this article, we analize the relation between the apearance of non-places and the disappearance of the flexibility around with the abandoned spaces inside of the city. With this relation resulted from the análisis, we will analize the problems of the rapid modernization of the city of Seoul. For fin, we will find the way of recover the flexibility of the city with the urban regeneration of the abandoned spaces.
