Abstract

This work sets the preliminary outcome of one of the research lines provided by the project #Peripheries. Heterodox proposals for a sustainable activation of ordinary landscapes, applied in the context of the National Plan of Scientific, Technical and Innovative Research 2013-2016 (2014 edition). The general aims are to explore the situation of minor watercourses in urban peripheries, to bring to light their environmental, social and cultural values, as well as to analyze the possible ways of their sustainable integration, management and use. In order to all this, three case studies in the outskirts of Seville will be explored, all of them determined by the singularity of their territorial contexts, which have been or are being affected by huge linear infrastructures or urban expansion processes. The diagnosis of their current situation and the different offered solutions allow us to make a reflection on the future advantage possibilities of the referred spaces and the resources associated to them.
