Abstract

In article was analyzed the design of public space in urban parks and ownership of citizens. As a case study, parks Joan Miró and Clot located in the city of Barcelona were taken. The methodology was developed in three phases: In the first review of the literature on the history of each park was performed. In the second formal and functional analysis, accessibility, the influence of art and complementary, cultural and service from field survey and review planimetric equipment was performed. And in the third phase were designed and implemented interviews and surveys of users. The findings highlight the design strategies implemented in each case study and how public space has stimulated social cohesion.
