Abstract

This paper is a theoretical and empirical approach to the current peripheral production model in medium-sized cities of sao Paulo. The Housing Projects of Social Interest - HPSI, leveraged by the Minha Casa Minha Vida responds more to land and real estate interests than the interests of combating the housing deficit in Brazil. The default deployment of HPSI contribute to increased specialization of the social inequality and socio-territorial segregation. In this paper, the program production will be analyzed in São Carlos and the city to São José do Rio Preto. Both objects of study are configured as a medium-sized cities inside São Paulo
