O diálogo da cidade com a sustentabilidade: uma análise de possibilidades

Abstract

In addition to the "Sustainable Cities", other proposals are presented, such as the "Smart City”, the "Compact City "among others. The propose of this research is to investigate two cities as reference cases, Volta Redonda, and Sorocaba, both located in southern region of Brazil. These two cities were prized as ones with the best quality of life in Brazil. The objective of this research is to investigate if these awards are actually reflecting these locations. Our main hypothesis is that these awards do not dialogue with the local population. Therefore, this research has preliminary data through bibliography while the field research will be through interviews and workshops in order to investigate whether the interests of the population were included in these awards and to identify the possibility of systematizing a sustainable project for public policy.
