ARQUITETURA COMO PRODUÇÃO DE FICÇÕES [ARCHITECTURE AS THE PRODUCTION OF FICTIONS]

Resumen

A arquitetura, tal como a conhecemos, surge de uma ficção pautada na suposta coerência e universalidade de seus valores. A ficção, aqui, é compreendida não enquanto gênero narrativo que se contrapõe ao documental, mas enquanto qualidade própria de toda narrativa. Considerando que as narrativas são representações ou abstrações dos acontecimentos, há nelas um grau de imprecisão inerente em relação ao que seria a realidade objetiva – efetivamente, essa suposta objetividade é sempre uma invenção. Entendemos que o projeto arquitetônico nada mais é do que uma ordem de serviço justificada por uma série de paralogismos que a legitimam. Sendo assim, defendemos que o trabalho do arquiteto é produzir ficções que emprestam uma aparência de coerência e racionalidade ao modo capitalista de construção das cidades. A partir daí, propomos o uso tático dessa condição ficcional comprometido com práticas emancipatórias: um exercício de ampliação do repertório imaginativo.

ABSTRACT

Architecture as it is today arises from a fiction based on the supposed coherence and universality of its values. Fiction here is understood not as a narrative genre opposed to the documentary, but as a characteristic common to all narratives. Considering that narratives are abstract representations of events, there is an inherent degree of imprecision related to what objective reality would be - effectively, this supposed objectivity is always an invention. We understand that the architectural project is nothing more than a work order justified by a number of paralogisms that legitimize it. Therefore, we defend that the architect's job is that of producing fictions that allow the capitalist mode of production of cities appear coherent and rational. From there, we propose the tactical use of this fictional condition that is committed to emancipatory practices: an exercise to expand imaginative repertoire.
