The most influent architect in Valladolid during the second half of 19th, and probably also, from educational point of view, one of the most influent of the whole north zone of Spain (Galicia, Cantabria, Asturias and País Vasco), Jerónimo Ortiz de Urbina Díaz de Junguitu, was undoubtedly a key figure in the preservation and restoration of a good number of temples and convents in the Diocese of Valladolid. Among his projects we have, only as examples, with those performed for the collegiate church of Saint Antolín ( in Medina del Campo), the Church of Los Santos Juanes ( Nava del Rey) or the conventual church of Saint Mary Magdalene (Medina del Campo). After a deep work of archive and of analysis, in these examples we can see how the different economic and social interests of the parts played for or against the preservation of important BIC in our country.Downloads
