Abstract

The aim of this study is to explain features of configurations the landscape takes in, as a result of its changes, and at the same time examine the case of the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara, in Jalisco, as a sample of the hybridization of the landscape. First, we present a conceptual revision about the landscape types, their characteristics and a critical thought on the prospects that integrate landscapes today, for then study an example, his issues and the evidence of the realities of the hybrid landscape, and finally we consider some main aspects about the landscape like a conclusion. The knowledge about the characteristics of the contemporary territory and his realities, which integrates the interaction of the natural and cultural qualities of the hybrids and dynamic landscapes as part of the territories, allows the sustainable management of the landscapes in spite of their continuous transformation. The importance of this research is to comprehend the landscape as an image of the socio-cultural moment that we live, and it helps to understand the complexity of different realities in the territory planning. Therefore, this paper is addressed to researchers and urban planners to contemplate the landscape as a concept that allows to analyze the environment from the viewpoint of those who inhabit the place and so manage it based on the needs of their society.
