Residence and human scale. The Didactic Campus as an Instrument of Innovation in the University Enclosures

Objective
The objective of this article is the search for a methodology for the design of a university campus, and therefore of a university accommodation. Emphasizing on the importance of human scale for the consolidation of learning and research communities that develop from the heart of the university itself.
Methodology
The use of the “Teaching Campus” as guidelines for the development of university residences.
Conclusions
The importance of the physical configuration of the university space as one of the conditions for excellence, aiming to improve students training. For this, the use of instruments such as the "Teaching Campus" can provide criteria for physical implementations.
Originality
Currently, the University needs a regenerative impulse that -using the potential of the residential function- reinforces the intimate and delicate scale of the places where students and teachers develop their daily lives. To achieve this objective, this text justifies the use of the "Teaching Campus", as a theoretical-practical instrument able to provide criteria of excellence for physical implementations on universities.
