This paper analyses the relationship between the human activities, like tourism, and environmental and climatic conditions of a site. A methodology is proposed, focused on the people (tourists and inhabitants), with consequences on the sustainability and economic feasibility of the site.
The usefulness of some comfort indexes for the evaluation of the environmental conditions of a touristic location is analyzed. Two case studies were chosen because of their different climate, historical and cultural context: Los Cabos and Cancun. Another reason was the high affluence of international visitors.
