Centre of Land Policy and Valuations (CPSV)

It is a scientific research technical unit created in 1986 and in 1997 acquired the status of Specific Research Centre (CER) of the UPC. It integrates a multidisciplinary group of researchers, who develop research and teaching in different fields of territorial & environmental action: management and administration of urban planning, urban and real estate valuation, land use and environmental management tools, direction of Spatial and urban planning, environment and quality of sustainable urban life, etc.

In recent years the centre has concentrated its research on aspects related to the effects of climate change in the city and territory, energy efficiency and sustainability of urban environments, smart cities, urban and territorial planning and urban equity and cohesion. All this with the help of new technologies (ICT, SIG, RS, RV).

Its objective is to boost knowledge, innovation and university research, developing methodologies, technological applications, optimization of urban and territorial instruments, as well as the training of professionals in its main lines of research: “Urban and Spatial planning”, “Urban management”, “Urban and real estate appraisal”, “Urban and territorial analysis” with the support of the new Information and Communication Technologies (GIS, Remote Sensing and Virtual Reality) and “Urban ecology, Management and environmental assessment of the city and territory.”
