Las vías de los trenes de New York transcurren bajo Park Avenue, que resulta una calle-puente en peine con un subsuelo inesperado a la vista de los gigantescos edificios que se levantan sobre la rasante de la avenida. El Union Carbide Building, situado en el 270 Park Avenue, es una de las intervenciones que circunda la Grand Central Terminal, su incorporación al conjunto se aborda a través de la condición subterránea de la infraestructura sobre la que está fundado, de los elementos que median el encuentro al suelo y de las oficinas que lo componen. El objeto es verificar cómo Gordon Bunshaft, desde la firma Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, adecua un modelo de formas simples a la particularidad del contexto en el que se inserta, mejorando las condiciones de su inmediación. El cuidado por el vínculo entre edificio y lugar trasciende como aporte de un ejercicio en continua experimentación; que hace trasmisibles prácticas y útiles las vías abiertas por los grandes maestros.

Likewise, the author or provider will assume payment to Palimpsesto of any sum or compensation that must be paid to third parties for failure to comply with these obligations, be it the result of judicial, arbitrary or administrative decisions.
7. The submission of the texts by authors implies automatically a declaration of non plagiarism of its contents
