Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The reception of manuscripts for the journal is permanently open. Eventually, there will also be calls on specific topics.

Format, language and extension

The journal publishes in: Spanish, English, Portuguese and Catalan. Articles must have a minimum of 5,000 words and a maximum of 8,000, including notes and bibliography.

All manuscripts will be submitted in .doc /.docx format. You can download the author guidelines template at the following link: (QRU template). Remember that the versions submitted for evaluation must not include the authors' data and the instructions must be followed to ensure anonymous evaluation.

The article must indicate: Title, subtitle (if applicable), institutional affiliation of the authors (from highest to lowest: university, faculty, department).

The article must have an abstract of up to 200 words, including a minimum of 3 keywords and a maximum of 5. Both the abstract and the keywords must appear in two languages ​​(that of the article and English).

The titles will have a maximum of three levels numbered with the decimal system. The main titles should be written with Arial bold, 12. The second level will be written with Arial bold, 10. The third level of titles will be written with Arial italics 10.

 

Pictures, graphs and tables

Graphics of all kinds may be included in the article. All figures, graphics and tables must be referenced in the text and indicate the corresponding source. It is the responsibility of the authors to verify that they have the rights to reproduce images that are not their own.

It is recommended that the images have a sufficient quality, but not exceed 300 dpi so they do not increase the size of the file. They must be interspersed with the text (always using the fit option: in line with the text). A space must be left between the text and the graphic. Titles and fonts cited under each graphic must be in lower case Arial 8, with no space between the graphic and the text. The texts included in the figures must be of a sufficient size to be legible and preferably using the Arial font or similar.

All texts, figures and tables will be included within the margins that the template has. All images must be able to be read with the page vertically. Images or graphics formatted on a landscape page (in which the reader has to turn the page in order to understand) will not be accepted.

Figures and tables will be placed in a place close to the one they are cited for the first time. A footer will be placed Fig. Followed by the number below each image or photograph and a footer Table followed by a correlative number below each table.

 

References and Notes

The APA format will be used and included in the text as follows:

Non-literal-textual in-text citations

Non-literal references (that is, citing the author's ideas, but with the words themselves) will appear in the text in parentheses, indicating the author's last name and the year, separated by a comma (Martínez, 1998).

In the event that several books or articles are included in the same reference, one will be cited after the other in chronological order and separated by a semicolon (Hall, 1996; Mumford, 1945; Jacobs, 1965).

If several works by the same author are included in the reference, it will be enough to put the surname and the years of the different works separated by commas, distinguishing by letters (a, b, etc.) those works published in the same year (Fernández, 1985, 1986, 1987a, 1987b, 1995).

If the author's name is part of the text, only the year will appear in parentheses: Holmber (1985) stated that ...

Literal quotes

Literal quotes will be enclosed in quotation marks and after it, in parentheses, the last name of the author of the text, the year and the page or pages from which said text has been extracted will be indicated. Example: "It is possible that Pick's enthusiasm for planning was not disinterested" (Hall, 1996: 93).

If the author's name is part of the text, it would appear like this: As Hall (1996: 93) points out: "Pick's enthusiasm for planning may not have been disinterested."

Footnotes

Footnotes should be used only in extremely necessary cases. The bibliography or references should not be cited in footnotes. However, primary sources consulted should be indicated in a footnote (for example: archival material, unpublished sources, etc.). The notes will appear at the bottom of the page, with continuous numbering. Calls will always follow a punctuation mark.

References include bibliography, web pages, articles, and ordinances.
