Abstract

Taking into account a wide and varied case-study sample, it can be said that Central Parks are emerging as a component with a great value to the largest and most important metropolis in the world. They provide identity to the most huge and crowded agglomerations, they help to balance the urban concentration and also allow the great city to be offered as a complete habitat. Therefore, what is exposed here through some selected examples is the role of these parks as a vehicle for major innovations that, thanks to its existence, come into production. The text focuses on how great parks can play an active role in the creation and transmission of knowledge and innovations on the metropolis’ constitution.
