The purpose of this work is to publicize the study territory, current concerns and research objectives of our team in the Instituto de Investigación y Desarrollo en Vivienda, Víctor S. Pelli (IIDVi-VSP), Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad Nacional del Nordeste, whose main focus are the urban, housing and enviromental conditions of the Metropolitan Areas of the Gran Resistencia and Gran Corrientes, in Northeast Argentina. With an historical review of the work of this Institute in relation to the evolution of Argentinian housing policy over the last 50 years, current interest are contextualized and special emphasis is placed in the main urban challenges that these intermediate cities with high water risks face. Lastly, and as an hypothesis, relevant issues for local research are outlined, which are surely transversal to other cities and could be of interest for a collective approach.Downloads
