After this emblematic period, it is time to take stock of what has been achieved and the challenges we have for the future. We have focused the study of what it has meant for the 15 Spanish cities that have been listed as World Heritage Sites in this period The recent covid 19 pandemic, climate change and the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine make it necessary to analyze the near future of world heritage and its future, in order not to create inequalities. In Spain it is one of the first four countries in the world with more cities and sites named World Heritage
