Abstract

The interest in the study of the role that the system of free open spaces can have, understood as an active component in territorial planning, led to focusing on the corridor of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Córdoba (AMC), Argentina, most impacted in recent years decades due to the increase in urbanized area. The process required determining a set of procedures and methodological resources based on the recognition, analysis and assessment of the free open spaces of Sierras Chicas in order to achieve an inventory of them that expresses their diversity and contributes to determining their territorial role for the purposes of future planning of the area.
