Shanghai Skywalks. La ciudad transitable de varias capas

Resumen

Esta investigación se ocupa de la actualización del fenómeno skywalks en la evolución de una ciudad multinivel como Shanghai.

Como en muchas megaciudades contemporáneas, la evolución genérica de Shangai, que incluye tanto la expansión urbana como la densificación interna de la ciudad, provoca el abandono total de la relación entre el individuo y el entorno urbano. Parece que, en ese contexto, el fenómeno skyway podría ofrecer espacios públicos nuevos, no convencionales y diferentes, y representa la posibilidad de la reinvención de espacios humanos. La naturaleza del fenómeno Skyway examinado combina ideas y conceptos aparentemente opuestos. Estas estructuras tienen dimensiones extremadamente grandes, pero, de nuevo, ofrecen espacios de escala humana. Las pasarelas elevadas examinadas están estrechamente conectadas con otras capas de la ciudad e integran una amplia variedad de usos, desde visitas turísticas y puntos de encuentro hasta lugares para vendedores ambulantes y prácticas tradicionales de baile. Al mismo tiempo, las vías aéreas representan nuevos espacios públicos e infraestructuras de movilidad suave, lo que señala la importancia de la idea de "caminabilidad". La investigación examina si estas estructuras podrían contribuir a la idea de implementación de la "porosidad urbana" en el contexto extremadamente denso de Shanghai. El concepto de porosidad urbana se ve como una posibilidad para que la ciudad de múltiples capas de Shanghai enriquezca sus espacios públicos, promueva paisajes y ofrezca nuevas perspectivas. Este trabajo considera el fenómeno skywalk dentro de un "marco" que podría aplicarse desde la escala más pequeña hasta la metropolitana.

Tomando todo esto como un punto de partida, creemos que, al proporcionar espacios humanos en un contexto más allá de la escala, estas pasarelas elevadas podrían representar un mecanismo para la inscripción de la vida cotidiana y la cultura en los entornos urbanos de varias capas.
