Abstract

The transition from the so-called mechanical paradigm to the digital paradigm is analysed by means of international workshops. During one week, prototypes are designed by students who have been taught a series of methodologies beforehand. The paper analyses the processes, using analogue and digital media, according to the formats of the different workshops presented, to determine that the digital paradigm allows the production of unique prototypes as opposed to the mechanical paradigm that produces mass-produced products. To this end, it is necessary to define parameters that help to relate and compare the artefacts generated with different systems and to establish symmetries between them
