Abstract

This paper presents an innovative experience in architectural education through the integration of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as a design tool. In the context of the climate emergency and emerging European regulations, Level(s) is proposed as the central pedagogical framework due to its scientific basis, academic flexibility, and regulatory relevance. The methodology combines Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Research by Design (RbD), fostering the application of quantitative indicators, the progressive use of specialized software, and the incorporation of environmental metrics in the early design stages. The experience is structured around three axes: theoretical foundations, analysis of emblematic case studies, and technical tools, providing a comprehensive understanding of sustainability. The results show that sustainability can become a creative driver and a transversal axis of contemporary architectural education.
