Abstract

Service-based learning, project-based and collaborative learning today are integrated into the collaborative-project development experience carried out by the architecture career at the San Sebastian University. Today, the Relation with the Environment institutional policy guidelines are materialized in a series of collaborative-projects developments experiences initiated in the practice studio, which have triggered funds achievements for innovation and the creation of the Territorial Milestone Program Más Parques. This constitutes the frame under which the university and the architecture carrer manage and develop collaborative-projects learning experiences through co-construction and bi-directionality strategies, with the belief of promoting a more complex education and the firm interest in contributing to the life quality improvement and the sustainable development of the Los Lagos Region in Chile.

Author Biographies

Drago Vodanovic Undurraga, Universidad San Sebastián

Architect from the University of Chile and Master in Architecture (DRL) from the Architectural Association of London. In England he worked for the global architecture office POPULOUS on different sports projects, both in Europe and the Middle East. In Chile, he has worked as an independent architect. He has served as a teacher at the AA Electronic Media Lab of the Architectural Association and at the MArch of the School of Design of the University of Pennsylvania, Universidad de Chile and Universidad San Sebastián. He is currently Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Universidad San Sebastián

Maritza Carolina Fonseca Alvarado, Universidad San Sebastián

Architect, Master in Wood Construction, PhD student in Sustainable Development. PEI accredited researcher. Associate Professor at ULA-Venezuela in the areas of Industrial Design and Construction Technology. Member of the URBIS Center for Research on Public Spaces of the Universidad de Los Andes. Designer and supervisor of architectural projects. Author and co-author of refereed publications. Guest referee for indexed publications. She served as Academic Coordinator of the School of Architecture of the San Sebastian University in Puerto Montt, the same school where she is currently the director.

Teresita Paz Bustamante Bustamante, Universidad San Sebastián

Architect of the San Sebastian University, headquarters of Patagonia. Diploma in Landscape Design and Master in Landscape Architecture from the Universidad Católica de Chile. He has developed projects in the field of public tenders both in the areas of public space and landscape and in heritage restoration, including landscaping works in heritage buildings. He currently works as a Teacher of Relationship with the Environment at the School of Architecture of the San Sebastian University in Puerto Montt.

Cristobal Noguera Errázuriz, Universidad San Sebastián

Architect from the Central University of Chile. Master in Sustainable Development at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He worked in the Sabbagh Arquitectos office, he also founded MAA Arquitectos Asociados. In the academic field, he has worked at the University of Chile and the Diego Portales University, in the areas of Workshop, Construction and Technology. He served as coordinator and teacher of the Advanced Façade Design Diploma of the San Sebastián University, where today at its headquarters in Puerto Montt he teaches in the Workshop area at different levels, along with leading projects of connection with the environment. He works as an independent architect and consultant, executing projects throughout Chile. He is currently an Academic of Linking with the Environment of the architecture career of the San Sebastián University in Puerto Montt
