Abstract

To connect the classroom with the real world and to integrate transversalities in the new process of the city, on the institutions’ demands and in the work as mediators that architects perform nowadays, has been integrated at architecture schools. These new requirements and responsibilities, as to design programs of necessities which will answer to real demands, require new listening methodologies about citizen discourse and collectives practices design. This carries the learning of new tools as participatory processes, perceptive derives, urban mapping, etc. The majority of these tools are inherited from disciplines, as sociology and philosophy, which are necessaries nowadays for the practice of architecture. It is a responsibility of academics to teach from correct practices and with rigor. The Integration Workshop puts into a practice a research methodology to active a disuse building and thinking about his possible future.
