Question: When the tools supplied by tradition are no longer useful to respond to new needs and new possibilities, is there a methodology to enables us to expand the imagination of architecture? Framework or theoretical perspective assumed: There has been an industrial revolution that has brought: new ways of living, new habits (needs); and new materials and systems (possibilities). We are now in an equivalent situation. Energy and environmental management to population growth, with new needs. Methodology: Analysis of the internal formal structure of the actions of inhabiting, inventing and playing. Thesis: I argue that playing is a self generative and autonomous system of creating and destroying habits. And also that habits are the architecture’s raw material.View DOI information in DOIBoard Crossref (by UPC)
