This communication presents the current structure of the courses of Construction I and Construction II in year-1 of the Degree in Fundamentals of Architecture of the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Valladolid, with the incorporation of new teaching methodologies from year 17-18. We will explain the changes implemented in teaching, which aim to adapt the courses to the circumstances. On the one hand, in the theoretical part an effort is made to essentialize concepts and the similarity between the human body and buildings is used to explain the contents of theory. In the practical part, we will explain the characteristics of the Matter Workshop, which collects previous experiences of intuitive experimentation with everyday materials to design small-scale structural models.
