Abstract

It presents an innovative and interdisciplinary pedagogical practice involving a range of stakeholders: teachers and students from the fields of Architecture and Sociology, as well as neighbors facing gentrification challenges. The pedagogical objective of the project workshop is to adopt a transversal approach addressing society's demands, from the initial planning to the construction. Key actions in this process include active listening, negotiation, collaboration, project development, construction, and enjoyment. Fulfill a pressing need by co-designing artifacts that end-users will select for implementation within the neighborhood. This collaboration fosters mutual respect and understanding between future architects and sociologists in practice. This initial approach between the two groups of students is part of the foundation of the learning process. The main challenge lies in embracing the open nature of the project process and the multiple iterations extending its development until the final co-building stage.
