Abstract

Within the framework of the Faculty Training and Educational Innovation Program of the University of Seville, during the 2016-2017 academic year, a new didactic model was developed for the teaching of structures, whose application took place in the subject Special Structures (Degree in Architecture) during the five sessions that included the proposed improvement cycle. This didactic model was composed of a methodological model and its sequence of activities, a map of contents, and questionnaires for the evaluation of learning. These three components were related to each other by problems-key questions. Although this subject previously worked on didactic principles such as cooperative learning, the new didactic model focused on improving active learning and students’ autonomy. The implementation of the new model allowed reaching a more global understanding of the subject as demonstrated by evaluation outcomes.
