An exercise that consists of making plan layouts of paradigmatic architectural works at a scale of 1: 1, has acquired a historical and ceremonial connotation, in the semester of initiation of the architecture career of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In the same way, the relationship between the theoretical and practical scope of the exercise is examined, arguing that the procedures used to carry out these traces, in turn, approximate a traditional initiation practice in the field of visual arts: represent a model or reference.
